Omer 6: Intention in an Isolated World
The counting of the omer requires intention, remembering each day that time is in between two festivals marking harvests, marking seasons. The act of counting the omer connects a community of people tracking this time.
Similarly, relationships with other people require intention. The counting of the time and energy spent in knowing, caring for, learning from someone else cannot be left aside. When a person forgets to count that time, neglects to connect with others, isolation and loneliness wait at bay. Relationships can only shift, change, deepen, move when intention and energy are present.

The intention put into other areas of life also often serves to connect people as they work together, dream, ideate, collaborate. In isolation, a person cannot build or accomplish nearly that amount of work which is done together. Yet the intention to connect to each other is always a choice.
During this period of the omer, let intention be a guiding force.
