Elegance was the name of the game for Crystal La Beija. She took her poise and prowess from beauty contests to beginning a community that supported other members of the trans community, the Royal House of LaBeija.

Beyond her work to expand the contests and beauty industry, La Beija sought to create avenues and a community for other Black trans people, drag queens, and dancers.
